In this two-hour walkshop we will visit soils and soil concepts at the Old Botanical Garden in Zürich, looking into the cryptic past for clues towards our future food growing.
Soils are complex, sophisticated organizational units not very different from large animals like ourselves: they have a birth, a lifespan and a death, they have a personality and dispositions that make them, like ourselves, more or less prone to certain life strategies. We will consider the life in soils, query their contribution to what we eat, and enjoy their expression in our bodies through food and drink. The talk will end with a small tasting.
This walkshop is organized in cooperation with Klimagarten 2085 and will be held in English.
Cost: CHF 25.- for the walkshop and a small tasting
