About this Initiative
With this 'Blood for Food' initiative Laura Schälchli's goal is to create an awareness and inspire people to eat and try cooking with a forgotten ingredient. Laura was inspired by the thesis research and work of her brother This who for example made her try ten different blood sausage recipes within one week. She also met Elisabeth Paul and Ben Reade at the University of Gastronomic Sciences. They both worked heavily on reasearch about blood at the Nordic Food Lab. Laura is based in Zürich and her work involves bringing delicious and conscious food closer to consumers thru events, classes and lectures.
